Description of the measure
Holders of Provisional Partner Visas – (temporary Partner Visa subclasses 309, 310, 820 or 826) could previously receive Special Benefit immediately on arrival in Australia. This was because they were exempt from the two-year Newly Arrived Resident’s Waiting Period (NARWP) as a family member of an Australian Citizen or long-term resident.
