FAQ

If your occupation is not included on the SNOL you may be eligible under other provisions such as employer nominated migration or 'off-list nomination’.
Only paid work experience at the skilled level of at least 20 hours per week (not average) will be considered meeting the work experience criterion
Applications that have been refused nomination are generally not revisited. A review of a decision to refuse a nomination application will only be considered if extenuating or compelling circumstances exist that are unforeseen and beyond the applicant’s control. Inadequate documentation, unclear information, typing errors or inadvertent omission of information/documents will not be reasons to review a decision to refuse. If the reason for review meets the above criteria the request must be made via email to Immigration SA within five working days of the refusal.
All applications are processed in the order of receipt of online submission. There is no fast-tracking of applications unless there are extenuating or compelling circumstances that are unforeseen and beyond your control. Imminent age, expiry of documents or work experience is not deemed unforeseen and beyond your control.

An EOI is an indication that you would like to be considered for a skilled visa. It is not the same as a visa application. Further information on SkillSelect can be found on the DIAC website. From 1 July 2012 all state nomination applicants will need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, as well as an online application for state nomination. Applicants who would have previously lodged under visa subclasses of 886/487 (onshore) and 176 / 475 (offshore) need to lodge an EOI under the new 190 (permanent) or 489 (provisional) visa subclasses.
