Members of the Institute (excluding Student Members) are charged a reduced Skilled Migration Application Fee of AUD$200, please indicate on the application form that you are a member of the Institute.
To be eligible for the reduced fee you must be a financial member of the Institute. If you have successfully completed an AIQS accredited degree, you can transfer your membership from Student to Affiliate grade. The form to transfer from Student to Affiliate grade can be requested from [email protected]. If you would like to transfer from Student to Affiliate and have a Skilled Migration Assessment Application completed at the same time, please request a costing from [email protected]. The price will vary depending on what time of the year you transfer your membership from Student to Affiliate grade. Please note that you will be required to fill in and submit both application forms.
The qualification requirement in Section 7.2 of our Skilled Migration Assessment Policy states that applicants must have a degree in “Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and Economics”. The definition of “Quantity Surveying” is interpreted by the definition set out in Section 2 of the Policy. Therefore, applicants with degrees in allied professions can be considered. Assessment includes review of your qualifications in conjunction with your skilled employment experience.
Yes, you will be required to submit and IELTS Test Report which must show a band score of at least (6) on each of the four (4) components – speaking, reading, listening and writing, unless you meet the criteria for exemption as outlined
There is a choice between the Academic and the General Training test in the Reading and Writing modules. The Academic module assesses whether a candidate is ready to study or train in English at an undergraduate or postgraduate level. Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on the results of these modules. The General Training module is designed to test basic survival skills in a broad social and educational context. General Training is suitable for candidates who plan to complete their secondary education in an English-speaking country, undertake work experience or training programs, or for immigration requirements to Australia, Canada and New Zealand. The requirements for IELTS for purposes of a Skilled Migration Assessment is a current report of either the Academic or the General Training test. Exemptions for IELTS requirements apply to the following: Applicants who have completed an Australian bachelor degree; Applicants who have completed a Quantity Surveying / Construction Management & Economics Post-Graduate qualification at an Australian University; Applicants who hold a valid passport (and are a citizen of) one of the following countries: Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom or United States of America.
A certified copy of a document is a copy of an original document which is certified as a true copy by an authorised person.
